Back to Washington DC

I am flying to Washington DC tomorrow with a Danish delegation from the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation. We are visiting some of the "EA best practice" agencies that I studied last year as well as my old colleagues at IBMs Institute for Electronic Government. Scott Bernard and I are meeting for dinner and I am having lunch/dinner with Peter De Meo - almost like coming home :)

This weekend I will act as "tour guide" for my colleagues and hang out my good friend Ole Jørgensen who, rather coincidentally, is visiting the World Bank in Washington this week. Let me know if you want to join us for at trip to Adams Morgan!

Conference blogging

Last week I was invited to blog during the national Enterprise Architecture for Government conference in Århus, Denmark. The model was a “running commentary” where we blogged in real time. Unfortunately, the entries were not referenced much by the conference speakers or the audience (in real time at least), but it was fun. A dedicated blog was set up on OIO.dk – you can find all the entries here

Presentation in the Danish CIO Council

One of my good colleagues from IBM in the US recently asked me if I am still using my blog. I admit that my entries have been limited lately, but I have not stopped blogging. Since I returned to Denmark I have simply been piling higher and deeper (what PhDs must sometimes do :) and focusing on the Association of Enterprise Architects here in Denmark and internationally.

Today, I presented my US research findings in the Danish CIO council. The Danish Ministry of Science had invited me to talk about my observations studying the enterprise architecture programs in 12 public agencies in Washington DC and lay out my recommendations for Denmark. You can find my presentation here.
